NIC Partners Team Up to Give Children, Families Early Christmas Cheer

This past Christmas, NIC Partners was beyond honored to participate in a fundraiser for the “Buena Park Children’s Shopping Spree” hosted by the Buena Park Noon Lion’s Club.

The shopping spree was held on December 14, 2013 at the Buena Park Mall. The families that attended were provided with new socks, shoes, pants and shirts. Many of the children were also provide with warm jackets.  The children were surprised by being greeted by Santa himself, along with taking a photo with him!

Parents and grandparents who accompanied the children were overcome with gratitude, often speaking through tears to express their deep appreciation for this opportunity for their child to have a Christmas they otherwise would not experience.  It was great to see how excited the children were to receive these items, and especially meeting Santa!  As a thank you to the sponsors, a book was given with letters and pictures of the children receiving their gifts.

“It is important to give back to the community, and I feel humbled by the gratitude given by the families”, said Frank Spaeth, Managing Partner.

NIC Partners works closely with the school districts of many of these children and always looks forward to helping the families and students in different ways, when possible.

NIC Partners Renews ATP – Physical Security in USA

Rancho Cucamonga, CA – November 26, 2013– NIC Partners has been officially renewed as a Cisco Systems ATP – Physical Security Partner in the USA.

Cisco® physical-security solutions provide network-centric capabilities to video surveillance, Internet Protocol (IP) cameras, electronic access control, and other technologies by converging voice, data, and physical security into a single appliance. This enables customers to preserve existing investments in analog-based technology and to use the network as a platform upon which more collaborative and integrated physical-security systems can be built. As customers converge physical-security infrastructures and operations and begin using the network as a platform, they gain rapid access to relevant information and increase interoperability with other IP-centric systems. This enables higher levels of situational awareness in environments where intelligent and timely decision making is crucial.

This is an outstanding accomplishment for NIC Partners and demonstrates their desire to develop expertise in the area of Cisco Emerging Technologies. The Cisco Systems Account Management team continues to work closely with NIC Partners to develop and enhance the fast growing market for Physical Security solutions, all on a converged IP network.

Stress – The Word of the Decade

Stress – The Word of the Decade – Blog entry by Becky Cisneros

Stress is brought on by various situations but can have detrimental consequences.  A mother, for instance, may stress over the well-being of her children.  An entrepreneur may worry about finances.  Whatever the case, we all have stresses in our lives and we all handle them differently.

The internet is full of ideas of how to reduce stress.  Some recommend listening to music, meditation, breathing exercises, eating right, taking a walk, spending time with friend and family, not worrying about the insignificant little details, take a walk  – just to name a few.  Overall, the general idea is to take your mind away, even if, for a moment.

Stress is the cause of a number of illnesses and some can be quite serious.  Everyone should attempt to avoid stressful situations to prevent potential health issues.  I try to walk the dog as often as I can, try not to sweat the small stuff – that’s hard when you are a perfectionist.  I enjoy music and dancing, I try to eat right, and I love spending time with family and friends.  Does it mean I am stress free?  No, but I do try to avoid from being stressed.  When I’m feeling overwhelmed, I ask myself,  “Is stressing over this going to accomplish this any faster?”  Secondly, I know whatever the task is, it always manages to get done – one way or the other.  Even God took 7 days to create the heavens and the earth…..I often wonder why not in 1 day?  That’s the  ”Get’er done” tendency I have.

We live in a world of that wants everything NOW.  When we order fast food, we want it faster.  We had DSL and wanted faster internet and fiber optics came into play….we are always in a hurry, or maybe just not satisfied.  Even when we aren’t in a hurry, we rush.  My suggestion is, slow down, take time to watch a movie, read a book.  Take that Sunday stroll in the park.  Kick off your shoes and take a jog on the beach.  Play catch with the neighborhood kids.  With the age of technology, we have lost our kids to video games, internet, text messaging, etc.   We should be setting examples for our children – no cell phones at the table during dinner time (we are all guilty).  I fear their generation will be more stressed than ours.

Whatever action you decide to take to de-stress…remember to relax, take a deep cleansing breath, and remember that you’re health is more important than the matters at hand.   There may be something in that old adage, “Take time to smell the roses”.

Becky has worked at NIC Partners since July, 2013 as our Customer Service Administrator.  She has worked in the Customer Service industry for over 20 years.  She enjoys spending time with her husband of 27 years along with her two children.
