Our Senior Network Engineers are responsible and professional employees who are efficient at completing all network integration tasks, from documentation and planning in a high-level manner, to providing basic direction and leadership in the engineering group. The Sr. Network Engineer is a position of technical management and oversight of technical responsibilities of Engineers working on assigned projects. These individuals are the focus of continual training and development so that there is always a solid core of NICP engineering expertise. These individuals report to the Integration Services Manager \ Professional Services Manager. Sr. Network Engineers participate at a higher level than Network Engineers in that they are responsible for higher level designs, more advanced troubleshooting and acting as team leaders.
Responsibilities
- Develop a project implementation plan including tasks for each portion of the project, for each project assigned and share with all Engineers assigned to the project. This is to ensure that each employee on the project completely understands their tasks and responsibilities daily.
- Collaborate with the Project Manager assigned to your projects about project details as well as project hours and financials. (It is the Lead Engineer’s responsibility to manage hours on the project and deliver the project as estimated or better).
- Manage, direct and delegate all tasks and responsibilities while work is performed on each project. Ensure that all tasks are completed correctly and communicate daily updates with the Project Manager.
- Maintain a billable percentage of 70% per quarter.
- Master an assigned discipline within our technical offering (i.e. VoIP, video, security, network management, remote access, routing).
- Clearly define scopes of work and Bills of Material as required to assist Pre-Sales (using MS Word, Project and Excel).
- Develop design schematics for both Pre and Post Sales (using Visio, MS PowerPoint and sketches).
- Attain quick problem resolution during implementation and/or troubleshooting of systems. (Using the prepaid agreements and manuals that NIC has collected and subscribed to).
- Perform the scopes of work as detailed in the implementation plans assigned to you. (System builds, test plans, documentation, training, etc).
- Utilize products correctly and to the degree required by the customers and manufacturer.
- Conduct training of customers and company employees. (Both formal and informal environments).
- File all appropriate documentation and appropriate reports as assigned.
- Handle multiple tasks at one time (i.e. pre sales designs, troubleshoot and develop internal network, respond to network down emergencies).
All Engineers at NIC Partners are responsible for:
- Maintain a written list of all uncompleted tasks
- Complete task coded time sheet on a timely basis
- Respond to all customers courteously and relay any customer questions or concerns to your supervisor.
