Video/Security Analytics

The cost of implementing Video Analytics has dropped significantly as technology has improved and many organizations are finding that adding one or more analytical applications can provide tremendous benefits to the security of their personnel and property. NIC Partners works with a large team of application providers and understands how to implement analytics in an affordable, secure environment.

IP Camera Analytics

Most IP cameras have some analytical functions pre-built into their camera hardware/software codecs, the most common of which, is Motion Detection. Motion detection is a powerful analytic that is important for today’s high-resolution IP Cameras (Megapixel and High-Definition), due to the large bandwidth and storage requirements for 24 hour recording needs. With motion detection, organizations can limit unnecessary recording by having cameras record-on-motion, significantly decreasing storage requirements. Other analytics that are built-in to many cameras today include: detection of perimeter intrusion, suspicious objects left behind, equipment removed, camera tampering, wrong direction, excessive speed, and more.

SightLogix SightSensor Cameras

The SightSensor is a powerful and unique processing platform that integrates camera control, image stabilization, advanced image processing, object tracking and behavior analysis inside the camera enclosure. The net-centric SightLogix system is designed to operate over low-bandwidth wireless networks and can run on solar / battery power. SightMonitor coordinates and displays data from all SightSensors on an integrated, geo-referenced topology map. It shows geo-located targets in real time as moving icons overlaid on dynamic camera templates. SightMonitor software blends into most NVR systems with no modification or middleware. The SightLogix SightSensor is a powerful and unique intelligent video surveillance platform designed for long-range automated security around critical outdoor assets. The SightSensor integrates camera control, image stabilization, advanced image processing, object tracking and behavior analysis inside a ruggedized camera enclosure.

The SightSensor, a color day/black and white night visible spectrum CCD low-noise imager, is specifically designed for perimeter and buffer zone protection of outdoor areas, in all weather, lighting and geographical conditions. It functions as a secure IT appliance and is built on open-standard IT architectures, operating seamlessly with 3rd party display and recording systems and C2 systems without middleware or integration. The SightSensor is also available in thermal infrared and WideView versions.

ShotSpotter Gun-Shot Locator System (GLS)

ShotSpotter GLS solutions use acoustic sensors deployed over areas from one square mile up to hundreds of linear miles to locate gunfire and other violent threats within seconds. When an impulsive sound is detected within a ShotSpotter GLS coverage area, the system springs into action; accurately locating the incident (within 25 meters) and classifying the impulsive sound as a violent threat or an everyday sound (e.g. car backfire or firecracker). Detailed alert information, including actual audio recording clips, is quickly relayed to dispatch communications centers, command stations, and field-based vehicles. Alert information is geo-referenced and visually displayed by the ShotSpotter PSC user interface.

Detailed incident information is logged and stored into a database. Data includes a geo-reference location cross-referenced to a nearest street address. When multiple firearm rounds are discharged, detailed information even includes the direction and speed of shooters on the move (i.e., as in the case of “drive by” shootings”).

Incident audio information is captured and instantly accessible via the ShotSpotter PSC for risk and threat analysis. This data enables rapid assessment of the incident, its severity and risk to responders and the surrounding area. Aided with this immediate situational awareness, agency personnel can quickly and decisively dispatch the appropriate force response and emergency medical assistance to the exact and correct location.

Historical incident activity provides forensic and related crime information for investigations, prosecutions, and effective resource allocation. Patterns and trends are revealed on the ShotSpotter PSC and also by reviewing the supplied analytic reports that can be used to drive intelligence-led policing and effectively manage resources to maximize crime stoppage. Data can be used to create custom reports and can be exported to third party crime analysis tools. This allows agencies to deeply analyze the system data, merge it with other crime activity to reveal possible suspects and victims. Examples include analyzing gunfire activity for correlation to the locations of persons on probation and parole, locations of known drug dealers, detecting repeat occurrences at the same location, and other analyses never before possible.

Vigilant Video – CamSmartz – Intrusion Detection

Vigilant Video’s CamSmartz technology provides real-time intrusion detection, tracking and classification on any Video Surveillance system. Designed to automatically recognize, capture and report individual events based on user-defined rules, CamSmartz delivers more security with less effort. Because you define the parameters, CamSmartz is as efficient as it is reliable, enabling your team to focus attention on analysis and correction, rather than spend endless hours reviewing meaningless videotape.
The technology automatically ensures that nothing is overlooked, but also eliminates false alarms due to background movement or other irrelevant activity. Advanced mobility features via the Web Event Viewer allow you to view CamSmartz signal events from anywhere in the world—go about your business, and know that you’re secure.

  • Analyzes, detects, alerts, and records intruders in defined zones
  • Recognize objects left behind (abandoned objects)
  • Recognizes objects left behind (abandoned objects) or those no longer present
  • (missing objects)
  • Detects flow violations through defined zones (movement in a direction that is not allowed)
  • Sends instant alerts via sound, e-mail SMS, and/or phone
  • Sends periodic reports of violations for informed staffing decisions
  • Works day or night in snow or fog

Vigilant Video – CarDetector – License Plate Recognition (LPR)

Vigilant Video’s CarDetector solution is available in both a static and mobile version, including specialzed camera options specifically designed for License Plate Recognition (LRP). LPR is an invaluable tool for keeping a watchful eye on your business or territory. Having the mission of keeping our communities safe, secure and protected, LPR is the ultimate choice that provides wide scale data distribution, in conjunction with data history, and pays out useful dividends for years to come. From monitoring traffic flow and controlling access points to criminal activity deterrence and target vehicle detections, LPR should be your leading technology choice for today’s security solution.

LPR is one of the fastest growing technologies in both the private and public safety security markets. LPR includes: 1) Capturing a vehicle license plate using a specialized video camera; 2) Creating data records and logging the capture attributes; 3) Generating alert notifications as ‘target vehicles’ are identified.

Vigilant Video – LineUp – Facial Recognition

Vigilant Video’s LineUp software harnesses the power of artificial intelligence to detect and record human faces via video stream. By sending instant alerts when security violations happen, LineUp gives law enforcement and other personnel an immediate advantage. Then, LineUp catalogs and stores historical events in an easy-to-access format that eliminates the need to search through hours of video surveillance tape. It’s fast. It’s accurate. And it works with existing CCTV systems.

LineUp collects face images, detection times and “entire human” (full body) images — then catalogs all human face events into a centralized database. Using the LineUp Event Search, you can enter a suspect image into the system — and instantly search through a time-based history of every possible match.

  • Intervene immediately during an event
  • Focus manpower on analysis and correction, not monitoring
  • Detect, classify and search in real-time
  • Define trigger alerts based on suspect images
  • Capture still images of each object automatically
  • Receive real-time alerts via audio alarm, page, SMS, e-mail, etc.
  • Query against image and attribute database based on input images
  • Receive online summary reports with user-defined filters
  • Record and index all video feeds online and offline
  • Determine cause of pixel changes (lighting, shadows, rain/snow, wind, etc.)
  • Search occurrences of suspect image over a period of time from multiple cameras
  • View by similarity rate, time order or by camera
